In this short article, I’m going to cover some tips that will increase your return on ad spend on Facebook Ads & Google Ads that you can implement right away to start getting some better results.

1. Exclusion Audiences

Setting up your exclusion audiences correctly is crucial to maximizing the results of your paid advertising campaigns. Make sure you are using these exclusion audiences throughout your campaigns to ensure the right people are seeing the right ads at the right time. Here are some common exclusion scenarios:

  • Excluding Purchasers from Remarketing campaigns.
  • Excluded all Warm Audiences from prospecting campaigns. (Like website visitors or even email list subscribers)

2. Ad Copy

This is the single most important building block of your ads campaigns. Ad copy is especially easy these days on all platforms to split test. Changing up your ad copy will give you more insight into what works best in your market and what doesn’t. With this information, you can better tailor your ads to hit and yield even better results.

3. Templates

Templates are widely used in almost every industry to save time and create consistent results. The world of paid advertising is no different. I’ve been using templates for years because they save time (meaning I can spend more time working on other things) & save you from making silly mistakes that can cost you hundreds if not thousands of dollars. If you haven’t made a template yet or what I like to call shells for your campaigns get on it!

4. Refreshing Creatives

Facebook Ads is a creative platform and even more so important than the ad copy are strong creatives. Creatives for those that aren’t familiar would be the images and videos that you have to use in your ads. These are what cause people to stop and even read your ad in the first place. All too often I see businesses running the same dull creatives that have shown mediocre results and then can’t seem to “figure out” what the problem is.

5. Consistency

This one might look like a cop-out but to be honest, consistency is the key to growth. What I mean by consistency is testing creatives & copy, looking to expand on audiences, working on new offers, maintaining a healthy ad budget, & even keeping a consistent schedule for managing your account throughout the week. Maintaining consistency in your efforts to push your campaigns further is what’s going to make the biggest difference for you and your business.

6. Improving Your Landing Page

This only applies to those that are using external websites or landing pages in their campaigns.

Newsflash! Your landing page affects your ad performance. Things like page speed, reviews/guarantees, & even the content on page will make a drastic difference in the outcome of your campaigns. If you are struggling to get the results you desire take the time to analyze your landing page and find ways to improve the user experience (Check Mobile!) & site speed above all else.
